I am a typical Bruneian. Cool, not synonymous with hip. Cool as in trying to keep calm.

There has been a lot of funny business going on in the medical community in Brunei. Some rumours and some facts.

I decided to blog some of the good and bad of being in the medical profession just to document the problems, maybe somebody out there can confirm some rumours. Maybe somebody can dispell some rumours. Maybe someone can give solutions. Let’s see how it goes.

I invite comments on this site. I invite people to email me with their rumours and facts.

So let’s get started.

The Minister and the MoH do care for the local doctors and has been trying to solve these issues. These matters are not easy to deal with as they involve other agencies. Be patient and be supportive of the steps being taken by the Minister and the MoH. I know that things can be slower here than what we are used to outside Brunei but we have to do things the correct way and using the proper channels otherwise it might backfire. I urge all local doctors to please stop all this negativity – it is not good and is like a cancer that can kill us all.

My advice is to channel your comments and thoughts or even any proposal for solutions to the correct authorities at MoH. We have to be one and support each other from now onwards. The Minister and MoH have taken steps to solve these issues, but as I said before, be patient, these things are complex and involve other agencies who might not see things the way we do. I think the best thing to do now is to stop all these negative thoughts and actions, support the Minister and MoH and do our jobs with pride and passion. I think we will be heard if we speak louder with our actions. This is the first time I have seen this blog and I may not visit this site so regularly but if anyone wants to provide their feedback on what I have said, please feel free to contact me at Disease Control Division 2382023 or via e-mail (drphisham@gmail.com)
